I've just been doing some reading, mainly the Kaleo handbook/paper booklet thing. i just read a part about a media fast? Does this mean like absolutely no movies? I really enjoy my movies so this may be a pretty tricky thing to give up.
The "media fast" idea is one we came up with a couple of years ago, as we saw students in the first semester spending big chunks of time on movies, video games, etc., and then greatly regretting it. We have found that if, as a student community, everyone agrees to save that kind of entertainment for a group event rather than any old time, people build better relationships, homework gets done, and Jesus is known better.
So it doesn't mean "no movies allowed." On their "end of year" evaluations, most students from the last two years have said, "Keep the media fast." You might like it.
